TEC

Identity and site, 2026

TEC opened about ten engaged conversations and reached three deal cycles inside its first three months, from April 2026, and the design did the work of making a company nobody had heard of worth answering.

The Everything Combine LLC automates operations and sales work for small and mid sized companies and member organizations, and I made the name, the logo, the type, the color and the single page at tec.ltd through the spring of 2026.

References

The mood board sets knowledge out as treasure: Haeckel's forms, Cellarius's star charts, a page off Baskerville's press, Audubon, a cabinet and a broadsheet. I wanted a consulting company to work in that register.

The references not in a collection

Four more sources counted as much, the Nature Company's poster catalog, the pages of DK Eyewitness, the editions of Sawaya and Moroni, and the office set of the 1994 film Disclosure. Each links to the page that documents it.

The logo

The first logo put white serif lettering on a navy square and said nothing beyond the initials. In June 2026 I replaced it with the blue square that stands on tec.ltd now, the stag in blue and TEC in white inside it, and the stag opens the site by itself.

The name

The company did business first as TEC Limited, and between 26 May and 9 June 2026 I rebuilt the page under the long form. The blue badge and the Fifth Avenue address line went through the change untouched.

The brief

TEC had no work to show and no name anyone knew, so the site had to hand a stranger legibility and credibility on the first visit. I wanted it interactive and academic at once, and started from a constellation of services instead of a list.

The press

Sawaya and Moroni opened in Milan in 1984 and called themselves design editors, publishing a designer's piece the way a press publishes an author. TEC runs on the same model, a press that publishes agent tools as its editions.

The site

One page at tec.ltd runs the offer, five service lines, three steps, who it suits and the close, and the constellation opens one service at a time. Light and dark run as two distinct versions, cream and scholar blue against night navy and antique gold.

Type and color

The Nature Company's posters were set in Cheltenham and enlarged the first letter of every capitalized word, which runs on every section heading here. Four colors key to objects, brass off credenza hardware, cobalt off a Laddie John Dill piece, green off a desk baize and terracotta off an Eames chair.

The system in Figma

The site shipped as one hand written page, so the design existed only as code and only I could move it. I rebuilt it in Figma as a component system bound to variables, so a product team gets the tokens, styles and components an engineer could build from.

The TEC home page at 1440 in light mode, built out of the component library in Figma
The page at 1440 in light, assembled from the components rather than redrawn
The same 1440 page in dark mode, night navy ground with the stag and the constellation in antique gold
The same page with the mode switched, cream to night navy and scholar blue to antique gold
The services constellation component and its variants, five domains across light and dark
The constellation as one component, five domains in two modes

Result

tec.ltd runs live today, and the first three months brought about ten engaged conversations and three deal cycles. The same system went into the client proposals and into the slide library on the deck system page.
